I. Process for Arriving at Standard Scores in the Common Written Examination 
The Standard Scores are obtained by adopting the following procedure: 
(i) Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is 
considered for arriving at the Corrected Score after applying penalty for wrong 
answers. 
(ii) The Corrected Scores so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care 
of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held 
in different sessions to arrive at the Equated Scores*. 
(iii) The Equated Scores so obtained are standardized** to arrive at Final Standard 
Score with a minimum ‘0’ and maximum ‘50’ by following Linear 
Transformation Method.  
This procedure is followed for each of the tests. 
* Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of 
scores of all the forms. 
** The equated scores in each test are scaled to Standardised Scores with Mean 25 and Standard Deviation 5 







III Process for Arriving at Total Weighted Standard Score in the Common Written Examination

Total Weighted Score = Standard Scores obtained in 
    (Reasoning + Quantitative Aptitude + General Awareness+ 
Computer Knowledge + ½ English Language + ½ Descriptive

HOW TO APPLY
Candidates can apply online only from 09.03.2012 to 30.03.2012 and no other mode of application will be accepted.
Pre-Requisites for Applying Online
Before applying online, candidates should--
(i)scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph and signature are within the required specifications as given in the Advertisement.
(ii)Keep the necessary details/documents ready if desired to make online payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges (In case of Offline Payment i.e. CBS candidates have to apply online, obtain a fee payment challan and then remit the necessary application fees/ intimation charges).
(iii)have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the declaration of results of this round of CWE. IBPS may send call letters Written Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share/mention e-mail ID to / of any other person. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before applying on-line and must maintain that email account.
Application Fees/ Intimation Charges (Payable from 09.03.2012 to 30.03.2012 (Online payment) and 12.03.2012 to 07.04.2012 (Offline payment) both dates inclusive)
- Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
- Rs. 450 /- for all others
Bank Transaction charges for Offline/ Online Payment of fees/ intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate
(1)Candidates are first required to go to the IBPS's website www.ibps.in and click on the Home Page to open the link "Common Written Examination"and then click on the option "CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE- PROBATIONARY OFFICER/ MANAGEMENT TRAINEES (IBPS-CWE-PO/MT-II) JUNE 2012" to open up the On-Line Application Form.
(2)Candidates will have to enter their basic details and upload the photograph and signature in the online application form. Candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature (Annexure II).
Mode of Payment
Candidates have the option of:
(1)ONLINE MODE of payment of requisite fees / intimation charges
or
(2)OFFLINE MODE of payment of requisite fees/ intimation charges
payment of fees / intimation charges through CBS branches of any one of the following 6 Public Sector Banks
Bank of Baroda , Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India
(1)Payment of fees/ intimation charges via the ONLINE MODE
(i) Candidates should carefully fill in the details in the On-Line Application at the appropriate places very carefully and click on the "SUBMIT" button at the end of the On-Line Application format. Before pressing the "SUBMIT" button, candidates are advised to verify every field filled in the application. The name of the candidate or his /her father/husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.
(ii) The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.
(iii) The payment can be made by using only Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.
(iv) In case candidates wish to pay fees/ intimation charges through the online payment gateway after the upload of photograph and signature an additional page of the application form is displayed wherein candidates may follow the instructions and fill in the requisite details.
(v) If the online transaction has been successfully completed a Registration Number and Password will be generated. Candidates should note their Registration Number and Password for future reference.
(vi) If the online transaction has not been successfully completed then the following message is displayed 'Your online transaction was unsuccessful. Please register again' Candidates may then revisit the 'Apply Online' link and fill in their application details again.
(vii) On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
(viii) Candidates are required to take a print of the e-receipt.
Note:
   oAfter submitting your payment information in the online application form, please wait for the intimation from the server, DO NOT press Back or Refresh button in order to avoid double charge
   oFor Credit Card users: All prices are listed in Indian Rupee. If you use a non-Indian credit card, your bank will convert to your local currency based on prevailing exchange rates.
   oTo ensure the security of your data, please close the browser window once your transaction is completed.
(2)OFFLINE MODE (at counters of specified Bank branches):
Payment of fee/ intimation charges through CBS branches any one of the following 6 Public Sector Banks-
        Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India
Candidates should carefully fill in the details in the On-Line Application at the appropriate places very carefully and click on the "SUBMIT" button at the end of the On-Line Application format. Before pressing the "SUBMIT" button, candidates are advised to verify every field filled in the application. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Registration Number and Password. An Email & sms indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will be sent. The name of the candidate or his /her father/husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.
In case the candidate is unable to fill in the application form in one go, he/ she can save the data already entered. When the data is saved, a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the registration number and password. An Email & sms indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will be sent. They can reopen the saved data using registration number and password and edit the particulars, if needed. This facility will be available for three times only. Once the application is filled in completely, candidate should submit the data. Candidates to take a printout of the system generated fee payment challan immediately. No change/edit will be allowed after submission thereafter.
The registration at this stage is provisional.
Fee Payment: Fee payment will be accepted from 2nd working day after registration and can be made within three working days. System generated fee payment challan will be used for depositing fee. (For example: If one has registered on 10.03.2012, then he/she will be able to deposit the fee from 13.03.2012 to 15.03.2012, considering 11.03.2012 is a non- working day). Once fee has been paid, the registration process is completed.
Candidate will receive registration confirmation by SMS/e-mail after two working days from the date of payment of fees/ intimation charges. Please ensure to furnish correct Mobile number / e-mail address to receive the registration confirmation.
Note- - There is also a provision to reprint the submitted application containing fee details, three days after fee payment.
After completing the procedure of applying on-line including payment of fees, the candidate should take a printout of the system generated on-line application form three days after fee payment, ensure the particulars filled in are accurate and retain it along with Registration Number and Password for future reference. They should not send this printout to the IBPS/ Banks.

Please note that all the particulars mentioned in the online application including Name of the Candidate, Category, Date of birth, Address, Email ID, Centre of Examination etc. will be considered as final and no modifications will be allowed after submission of the online application form. Candidates are hence requested to fill in the online application form with the utmost care as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained.


 
Frequently Asked Questions:
            For On-Line Registration Process.
 
1.What should I do if there is lot of delay in accessing the page?
 Speed for Registration of On-Line Application on Internet, is based on various factors like Internet Speed, large number of applicants trying to register the application at the same time etc. Therefore if you are not able to get the pages for registration immediately, please retry after a gap of 15 minutes or during off-peak hours during the night.
2.How do I know that my application is registered?
 Successful Registration is indicated by the Page displayed after clicking the Submit Button indicating the generated"REGISTRATION NO." and "PASSWORD". Please note down the same carefully and preserve it. If you do not preserve it, you will not be able to Re-Print the Application and download the Call Letter.
3.I did not receive the email intimation for registration of my application?
 "REGISTRATION NO." and "PASSWORD" are also sent by auto-response Confirmation emails. Delivery of these emails purely depends upon the correctness of E-Mail ID provided, Policy of your E-Mail Service Provider to accept and Divert such emails under Bulk or Spam Mails or bounce back such mails without accepting it due to heavy number of emails generated by our Applications. In case of Govt./official /company Email Ids, delivery is controlled by your Company Policies. Therefore, please do not expect replies from us, if you do not receive such confirmation / auto-response Emails.
4.How do I re-confirm that my application is saved?
 In case of doubt about the successful Registration, candidates are advised to visit the Page for Re-Print of Application, generate the Printout and preserve the soft copy and hard copy (printout) of the Application.
5.I got Blank / Zero Registration No. after submission of application on-line?
 In rare cases Candidates may get Zero (0) Registration No. with valid Password. Candidates are advised to Re-Register the Application and check the Printout through Re-Print Application.
6.After filling up the complete form, I got Blank Screen / Internet got disconnected / My PC closed / hanged / shutdown. Is my application saved / registered?
 Please refer to Point No.4. If you do not get the application printout through Re-Print option, your application is not saved. Please re-apply.
7.I did not receive the acknowledgement / reply to my email communication?
 "Reply to" Email Id for the Application is created for the convenience of the Candidates for genuine communications. Please do not use this address to send back the emails for "Acknowledgment", "Vacation Mail", "Friendship Offers", "Sales Offers" etc. Our Email Server is configured to delete such emails automatically.
8.What details should I retain while replying to auto-response emails?
 While writing back by replying the confirmation emails for genuine problem, please retain the text containing "REGISTRATION NO." and "PASSWORD" details on the email.
9.What details should I provide while writing for the problem?
 Please do not forget to provide following details while writing to us: (1) REGISTRATION NO. (2) PASSWORD (3) DATE OF BIRTH & (4) FULL NAME as entered in application. In case of application failure or any error message, we would like to have the screenshot of the error in JPG, GIF format or as MS Word file. Additionally, you may provide the PC Details including the Operating System (like Windows XP, Vista, Linux etc.) & Internet Browser & version (like Internet Explorer 6.0, Mozilla 3.0, Firefox 3.5 etc.) used.
10.I want to change / correct the details I entered in the Application?
 Please choose the 'EDIT' option to correct the details. Please note that you can modify details only upto 3 times. No change/edit will be allowed after submission. If you have used 3 chances for corrections, please reapply before the closure of Application Date as per advertisement. Please remember to take fresh print out after modifying any details.
11.What payment options can I use for this service ?
 You can use Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking.
12.Do I get a confirmation of the payment that I have made ?
 For each payment you will receive an online Transaction Reference Number that is an acknowledgement for your payment request.
13.Do I have to pay any service fee ?
 Yes . Transaction charges for NEFT/ Online Payment will have to be borne by the candidate.
14.My Internet connection failed in the middle of my transaction, what do I do ?
 If the problem occurred before you entered your payment information, you can close your browser, log back in, and try again.
If you submitted your payment information and then experienced a problem, send mail to registration_helpdesk@ibpsorg.org before trying again.
15.My online payment transaction has gone through but my online application has not been registered, what do I do?
 In case of any technical problem such as loss of connectivity before the online application has been submitted the application fee / intimation charges will be automatically credited back to your account.
